DARE TO DREAM
In collaboration with the Stijl Instituut Amsterdam, Anne Smolders and I created a showcase. For 4 days, during the Heimtextil Fair, we embroidered a 12 meters long bed. This installation was  inspired on the ‘Merklap’, an old Dutch tradition. In the early days, young girls learned several stitching techniques so they could embroider their sheets, napkins etc. On the ‘Merklap’, a long piece of cloth, they stitched the alphabet and symbols that represent their hopes and dreams for the future.
So after 4 days, our bed was also filled with future dreams.
